These are the checks that solve most Archon Camera problems. If none of them help, send us an email.

Cameras do not appear on the controller

Discovery only works inside one local network. Work through this list in order.

  • Make sure every device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If your router advertises 2.4GHz and 5GHz under different names, put the devices on the same band.
  • Check that camera mode is open on the phones you want to record with.
  • Public Wi-Fi in cafés, hotels and offices — and guest networks — usually block device-to-device traffic. Try a personal router or a phone hotspot.
  • Tap refresh at the top right of the controller screen to scan again.
  • If a VPN is active, turn it off for the shoot.

Recording does not start

Only cameras reporting a ready state can be started.

  • Confirm camera and microphone permissions are granted on the phone.
  • Close any other app that is currently using the camera.
  • Keep the camera mode screen open — the device reports not ready when the app goes to the background.
  • Check that there is enough free storage.

Videos are not transferring

Even when a transfer fails, the recording stays on the phone that shot it.

  • Both devices must stay on the same Wi-Fi while the transfer runs.
  • Turn on auto-save on the controller device to store incoming videos without a confirmation prompt.
  • Failed transfers retry automatically. If they keep failing, copy the file from the camera phone manually.

Contact us

If none of the above helps, include the following — it makes the cause much easier to find.

  • Your devices and OS versions (for example iPhone 14, iOS 18)
  • Which device acted as the controller and which ones as cameras
  • What you were doing when it happened, and any message shown on screen
